Corporate training workshops have become extremely popular. Irrespective of whether they are delivered by internal training teams or by external corporate training companies, organisations have realised the benefits of such workshops. And are going all out to use them as an instrument of transformation for their employees.
Today, I want to discuss 5 ways in which I see corporate training workshops really making a difference in the lives of employees. Here goes…
Knowledge and Concepts
I remember when I was doing my MBA and had difficulty in understanding some popular HR concepts. Now, being a trainer in a corporate training company, I actually make the effort to explain those very concepts to my participants in a simple way. And I also ensure they are able to implement them back at work. For example, remember the situational leadership model we studied in MBA. It works brilliantly to understand how to delegate tasks effectively to different types of employees. And there are a host of other such tried and tested models and concepts that are helping employees manage their teams and overall work better.
Skills
Yes, corporate training workshops focus a lot on skills. Infact, that’s what they do best. They teach you a skill and ask you to practice it there and then with other participants. That’s how employees have improved skills like say problem solving and decision making. This has helped organisations understand their challenges better and take more holistic and informed decisions.
Awareness
Although it takes a long time to change a person’s attitude, corporate training workshops do their bit in creating awareness. They give you insights into what your current attitude is and what it ideally should be. And if followed up by regular touch points, can create a long-lasting change in attitude and performance.
Working together
Team building workshops definitely do their bit when it comes to bringing the team together. They also throw light on team dynamics and ways in which a team can increase cohesiveness. And I’m sure I don’t need to explain the effect that such workshops have on the workforce!
Stakeholder Orientation
Trainings on Customer Service Excellence and Etiquette have a huge role to play in professionalism, both in terms of internal customers and external customers. And this largely affects the culture of an organisation and also the brand image that a customer carries in his/ her mind with regards to the organisation. Which gives an organisation great references through its internal brand ambassadors and external one’s too😊
